About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To cover more sporting events through my newsletter by saving money since I'm responsible for all expenses.

ABOUT ME

I'm a sportswriter with his own e-mail newsletter who has done it entirely by himself since 1997. A 1992 University of Arizona journalism degree graduate, I first began my professional life as a freelancer for FOX, CBS, ABC and TNT keeping track of statistics during sporting events. Due to having to pay my own way, there were many times I had to drive hundreds of miles and sleep in locker rooms, shower stalls, luxury suites, rental cars, etc.

Finally, because of having enough established relationships, I founded my Dallas Sports Source newsletter in February of 1997. On my own, I've been credentialed to Super Bowls, NBA Finals and other sporting events. It's not easy doing that I've done, but my passion is being lived doing what I've done.

Along the way, I've been able to stay with friends in some cities. But I don't have friends in every major city, so Couchsurfing will help.

I'm laid back and pretty low-key. If anyone has dogs, I'll probably make sure their food/water bowls are filled. Am 46 years old with plenty of tales to tell about life.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is to get the best out of life despite hardships, which isn't easy sometimes. Despite all pitfalls, a man prevails in me.

I only read about Couchsurfing in March of 2007 in American Way Magazine while flying to San Francisco from Dallas for a weekend getaway. The concept is very creative and appealing!

Music, Movies, and Books

Like movies that provide drama with going against the oods, particularly true stories. Books liked are serious biographies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I took a trip to Paris in February of 1996 when a low-low $269 airfare came out, leaving on a Friday and arriving into Orly Airport Saturday morning, then flying back the following Monday afternoon.

After landing - with bag in tow - I visited the Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower and Chammps de Elysses all in one day (Saturday).

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my writing ability with others and enable those interested to have another avenue for conveying thoughts/words in a readable way. My ability to break down barriers and persist for overcoming can also be explained and serve as a positive role model for people.

In some instances, I can get event tickets for people.
