About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Running for the thrill of it

ABOUT ME

Born in CA, raised in CO, went to college at CU-Boulder, worked as an engineer for a year after graduation where i discovered the corporate world was my idea of hell, packed up and left for a year long trip around the world in which i brought back a million stories and experiences that I wouldn't trade for anything. Back in Colorado working and saving up for the next big adventure. I love being outside, playing and watching sports, writing and playing music with my band, and doing anything that keeps life spicy.

PHILOSOPHY

"Youth is a bird that flies away and never comes back. Fly, man, fly!"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Joined while living in North Carolina...got involved with people in Raleigh and met a lot of good friends there. Took a round the world trip in 09-10 in which i went from europe-australia-nz-southeast asia. Stayed with people of all backgrounds and cultures...was once living in a house in the gold coast of oz with 9+ people all from different countries

I now live in Denver, Colorado for now while i plan my next adventure. In the meantime I love meeting new people from all ends of the world...it keeps me in the traveler spirit! If you're in the area feel free to crash on my couch

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Music, Movies, and Books

First of all they shouldn't group these three categories into one.

Music: if it's good live then it's legit. I'm always down to jam especially when it collides with a dance groove or a little electronic -sts9, umphrey's mcgee, pretty lights, thievery corp, boombox, daft punk, phish, chromeo, miami horror, bassnector, big gigantic, classix, ghostland etc. All reggae especially the dirty skanky kind - bob, sublime, chill stoopid, giant panda guerilla dub squad, fat freddy's drop, the black seeds. Love gettin funky- galactic, black keys, whatever. But often the best is the simple homegrown goodness of an acoustic guitar and strings - railroad earth, mumford and sons, ryan adams, josh ritter, beautiful girls, xavier rudd, old crow medicine show, avett brothers. Classic rock is called "classic" for a reason - zeppelin, the stones, the beatles, tom petty, neil young, bob dylan, seger, all that good shit. And lastly, i gotta love bumpin some beats once in a while - atmosphere, cunninlynguists, dre, etc....

Fav books: This side of paradise, the alchemist, I know this much is true, into the wild, the great gatsby, the sun also rises, abbey's road, one flew over the cuckoos nest, all the pretty horses, scar tissue, the things they carried, abbey's road, colorado's 14ers hiking guide, and many more. I'm always looking for recommendations

Movies: shawshank redemption, blow, the motorcycle diaries, dumb and dumber, happy gilmore, traffic, 25th hour, american beauty...
