Musik, Filme und Bücher

Varied interests, too difficult to categorize.
Music - U2 & Beatles are old favourites.
Books - P.G. Wodehouse, Douglas Adams, Jared Diamond, Steinbeck, George Orwell, J.K. Rowling, Arthur C Clarke; to name just a few of the authors whose works I adore

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

For the most wonderful sight I've seen, a very close tie between the fjords of Norway & the micronesian islands of Palau.
And I love Sydney. Everday that love grows stronger - I feel so lucky to call Sydney my home!

Lehren, lernen, teilen

Regarding Snake-Charming & Lion-Taming: The most important thing to bear in mind is that snakes can be charmed while lions can be tamed, but never the other way around.
Regarding wizarding & flying: Those of us from the east have long realized that flying carpets are much more comfortable than broomsticks, especially for your backside.
Regarding everything else: Don't Panic!

More mundane but useful tips for Sydney couch-surfers.
1) Sydney can be an expensive city, and even public transportation can get costly. Hence I highly recommend getting a weekly travel pass once you're here. That gives you unlimited access to the buses & ferries, and/or trains. (Ferry travel in Sydney is pretty cool!). Note that there are different types of travel passes, with different coverages & prices. For more info, check out their website http://www.131500.com.au/faresandpasses/travelpass.asp

2) Regardless of where you're couch-surfing, get yourself a pre-paid mobile phone/SIM card. It enables you to contact your hosts & vice versa. It's invaluable for couch surfing, especially in today's fast-paced unpredictable world where plans are often subject to last minute changes & extenuating circumstances (traffic jams, train delays, etc, etc).
