Overview
About Me
I moved to Ireland from Iowa in 2012 on what I thought would be a one-year visa. However, soon after I arrived in Dublin I met an amazing man and realised living, work and traveling in Europe was something I loved to do! Since then I have been working as a graphic designer in Dublin, and traveling whenever possible. So far I've only traveled to about 8 European countries, plus India and about 30 U.S. states, so there is plenty more for me to see! I adore travel, not as a typical clueless tourist, but to immerse myself in the city and local life as mush as possible during my short visit.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
There is a kind of personal connection with Couchsurfing that you cannot find staying in hotels or hostels. I love the feeling of one-on-one interaction with a local resident (even if the host is not around much) since it makes it a bit easier to acclimate to the city and its culture. It's also a "pay it forward" idea that I love -- while I haven't accepted hosting guests through my own Couchsurfing account, my boyfriend has on several occasions and we have always enjoyed hosting people from all over the world.
Interests
I love learning and exploring new things, especially anything artsy or alternative! I also enjoy getting to know new people, though prefer small groups to a huge party of strangers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I recently travelled to India where I attended a traditional Indian Hindu wedding. (The bride was a girl I met up with through Couchsurfing!) The five days of rituals and celebrations were unlike anything I could have imagined, such an unforgettable experience! The colours, the food, the tradition and meaning behind everything, all to celebrate love. It was absolutely amazing.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Whenever I am hosted I like to say "thank you" to my hosts -- whether bringing a small gift from Ireland, cooking them dinner or buying them a drink, or even just returning the favour when they visit Dublin!
