About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Seeing the world one person at a time, learning about new cultures and making new friends!
ABOUT ME
Wow so I got this profile in college and never really used it but now that I'm traveling more I want to rectify that, so Hiyah! I am a lover of people and culture, with an absolute thirst to see and understand the world (though I happen to think life is a little too complicated ever to be understood).
I grew up in a subarb of Chicago, am adopted (and therefore care a lot about adoption) and I have a crazy family that I still manage to love. 10 brothers, 4 sisters. I probably have a few complexes from that alone.
I love books, movies and theater and when I'm not working to feed myself I'm building a career in the film industry. I enjoy every opportunity to learn, to test my faith against new realities, and believe that every culture and belief system has something of value to impart.
PHILOSOPHY
My philosophy of life is this. Life is best lived with eyes wide open. To get the whole picture you have to listen and be willing to learn. To truly call yourself educated you have to become apprentice to many masters, and not just soak up ideas like a sponge. They all have to be pondered over, and sifted through. Finding truth, is like looking for gold in a stream.
Maybe by the time I die I'll be really wise, maybe I'll find real truth (and it's not relative), and maybe not. Maybe I'll die never knowing the secret to life but I'll have at least lived it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Being an Indie film maker means A LOT of travel. Which is great for the adventurer in you and not so great on the pocket book. I've recently gotten into airbnb the last couple of years and one of my hosts helps run the couch surfing meet ups for Atlanta and highly recommended it.
Interests
I dabble in photography and spoken word. I'm occasionally interested in politics but often really troubled by them. I like taking long walks and recording my thoughts in journals. I like cooking with friends and sharing a good meal together.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I helped deliver a calf once (okay mostly I fetched stuff for the guy doing all the work but) it was a singularly unique feeling I haven't felt since.
Teach, Learn, Share
Well I live in the heart of Chicago and am very familiar with the theater/poetry scene and I attend Bible College so I think I have a pretty interesting perspective on the religious history of the west. If you want to know more about America, the African American community, or adoption I can definitely help there too as I am all of those things. :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
A crackling sense of humor, able hands for cooking and cleaning and a sharp mind.
