Overview
About Me
I am a third year university student at UC Davis currently studying to major in Evolution, Ecology & Biodiversity. Studying abroad ranks on the top of my future endeavors, because there are great minds all over the world filled with so much intellect and ideas and experiences. Potential places: Denmark for my admiration of Scandinavian ways of life, Italy for my roots and Germany for culture + interest. At the same time, I enjoy traveling for pleasure, sightseeing and immersing myself in the local culture as much as possible.
I am half Indonesian and half Italian, as I like to call myself: Indotalian! As listed, I have been to Indonesia many times, because my mother was born and raised in Medan, North Sumatra. I have been on 12 islands of the thousands: north Sumatra, west Java, Bali, Gili Trawangan, plus 8 islands within the Lesser Sunda Islands. I hope to explore more both on each of the islands I have been to and have not been to. As for my father's side, I have not travelled to any part of Europe so I do plan to visit Italy to trace my roots; my grandmother is from the South, Sicily, and grandfather from the North, Venice. Therefore, this means I must explore all of Italy.. obviously!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As mentioned in my Introduction, I plan to study abroad in the near future. When abroad, I want to explore to my heart's desire! I think the best way to get a full trip's worth is to stay with others who are like-minded. I love learning about other people's lives and their experiences that have made them unique because I am fascinated with how we all might see and react to the same thing differently, but also to different events similarly, crazy right? While I do enjoy periods of time to myself, I grow as a person by learning from others.
