About Me

Kacper Major, 22 years old, University of Barcelona dropout. Since then I wander across the world as a student of life. Body and mind extremely healthy. Future: the man who will save the world - maybe.

On July 10th, 2025, I left my home without telling anyone and set off on a journey around the world — with no money, no internet, and alone. I'm experiencing life from a completely new perspective and meeting lots of amazing people. I started in Poland and have already visited: the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Greece, Serbia, Turkey, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Italy, Monaco, France, Andorra, Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My plan of hitchhiking from Warsaw to Los Angeles means visiting plenty of places, but without meeting people, it feels just empty to me. As soon as I settle down somewhere for good, I’ll start giving back ;)

Interests

I am very ambitious by nature, but I have consciously decided not to strive to be the best at anything. Instead, I aim to be good enough at everything (in which I feel the desire to develop), and especially at being myself, whatever that means.

My distinguishing features are juggling and unicycling. With busking I earn my living as I travel. I didn’t bring my unicycle with me, but back home I used it as a mean of transport to university and work.

Music, Movies, and Books

The only book I took with me during my trip is Don Quixote. It turned out to be an excellent choice, because the absurdity of the fictional story helped me cope more easily with the absurdity of my own situation during the first weeks of the journey. Later, a friend I met on the road recommended The Late Mattia Pascal to me, and wow—what a relatable book!

Back in my school years, I used to read mostly fantasy. Tolkien, Sapkowski, and Lovecraft hold a special place in my heart.

And then there’s Berserk by Kentaro Miura—the only manga I’ve ever read.

Films... well I think I'll just drop several titles sorted in categories:

animated: Rango, Corpse Bride, Shrek, Megamind, Hoodwinked!, More (Mark Osborne, 1998), The Peasants

comedy: The Princess Bride, 7 days in hell, Swiss Army Man, Astérix & Obélix: Mission Cléopâtre, Amélie

non-comedy: Annie Hall, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Into the Wild, Gladiator, Memento, Matrix, Reservoir Dogs, Fight Club, The VVitch: A New-England Folktale

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I fell in love. Both my greatest accomplishment and the best thing that has ever happened to me. Sadly, I Annie-Halled it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I managed to teach one Spaniard how to juggle in less than an hour — I can teach you too! If for some strange reason you want to learn some basic polish phrases, I'm here for you :D

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can help with everyday tasks. I strongly encourage doing something completely irresponsible together, going to an unusual place, attempting a task we are not prepared for, or stepping out of our comfort zone in one way or another. Or I can just teach you how to juggle.

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Andorra, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Estonia, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Monaco, Montenegro, Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In

Czech Republic, Poland
