About Me

Spending two months in Medellín!

I'm a curious explorer of life. Along the way, I find myself traveling pretty often, which I don't mind at all.I'm an author, so I've had the good fortune of being able to travel quite a bit in the past year. My newest adventure is that I'm spending 2 months, January-€œFebruary, in Medellin.Besides escaping the bitter cold of the Chicago winter, I hope to work on my Spanish, and work on my Salsa, Bachata and Tango dancing.

I'm really interested in food. I eat local and organic most of the time. I love trying new restaurants, but I cook almost all of my meals.

I'm fascinated by what humans were like before civilization and how we might re-integrate some of our hunter-gatherer roots. For example, I've experimented a lot with eating a "paleo" diet (no grains). I'm always gluten-free, though.

I also really love the Internet, Technology, and Design, which is fitting, since I wrote a book about those things.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Election, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Pi, Dark Passage, La Ladri di Biciclette, 8 1/2, Catch Me if You Can

Music: http://last.fm/user/kadavy says that I have been listening to a lot of instrumental "post rock" lately: The Album Leaf, Explosions in the Sky, and This Will Destroy You. But, like most people, it varies.

Books: Blink, The Tipping Point, Pride and Prejudice, The Four Hour Work Week, Guns Germs & Steel, Omnivore's Dilemma

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Nothing compares to seeing The Grand Canyon in person. It's almost comical to see someone try to take a picture of it, because the experience can't be recreated.

That, and The Pantheon, in Rome.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach a little Salsa, Bachata, and Cha Cha!I'm trying to learn Tango and Spanish.
