About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Reducing pollution through creating sustainable development

ABOUT ME

For me Life is about Love, Learning, Laughing & the joy of being alive!

I have devoted my life to reducing pollution through sustainable development. Everything I do seems to be toward that goal in some way or other. Couch Surfers will hopefully be another of those ways of creating sustainable traveling.

I love to keep it local, eat local organic food, support local businesses, food not lawns, main street not wall street philosophy. I founded a non profit org called Earth Peace Systems toward these endeavors. Sustainability is so broad and we focus on all of it. I personally specialize in systems that create energy efficiency, conservation, and renewable energy systems.

If this aspect of life interests you at all then we will have much to discuss when you stay with me or I stay with you...

Peace

PHILOSOPHY

Live Love Laugh Learn

Be Present!

If life is always a challenge, then it is never a blessing or a curse.

Ordinary people have ordinary problems. Extraordinary people have extraordinary problems.

Be the change you wish to see in the world.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to be a great host in our rental in Lacey Wa, as opportunity arises. Share stories, experiences, good meals, and Co create new friendships.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was homeless for about four months in 2005 at which time I really was couch surfing. I definately learned a lot about respect and communication. I always offered my host money for utilities or "rent" if I stayed for more than a few days. Some experiences were better than others, drama is definately not my style. Circumstances do not dictate happiness, manner, mood, speech, response, action, reaction, emotion, attitude, perception, all are choises we make. Being self responsible and maintaining ones integrity is key in all relationships. Living happens in the present!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Music. All Kinds! My favorite is probably acid jazz. I love electronica dance music of all varieties. I like heavy stuff like TOOL (who I was on tour with in 02 on the midwest leg of the Lateralus tour). I like lighter folk music and jam bands like Wide Spread Panic, String Cheese, Keller Williams, Michael Franti & Spearhead etc. I love the modern women of music like Tori Amos, Ani DiFranco, Holly Taylor, Dido, Jewel, etc.

I am currently reading about Permaculture, Grant Writing, and Transformational Education. The Mastery of Love and The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz, have been recent treasures. My personal library is packed with books on sustainable building techniques, alternative fuels & energy systems, organic gardening, and equitable social systems. I am currently writing two books; Adventures in Sustainability, and Kitchen Witchen (a recipe book for living).

I don't watch movies very often and very rarely watch television. I really like documentaries like "Who Killed The Electric Car", "Food Inc." is a great film everyone should see, and "Steal This Movie". I saw "Avatar" not long ago, I really liked the metaphors in the plot. I'm a sucker for a good musical tho I preffer live theatre to movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was apart of more than a million people who decended on Washington DC in February 2006 to demand an end to war!

I increased my vehicle's fuel milage with a simple hydrogen electrolysis system on my vehicle. I extract Hydrogen from water while I drive and burn it with the air fuel mixture. I have seen my milage improve by as much as 50%.

I have made natural gas from wood in a gasifier I built with friends.

I have harnessed intense amounts of thermal energy from solar concentrators I build.

I've seen a great many sunsets & sunrises in amazing locations around the US. Never left the country yet. One of my favorite spots to visit is Bagby hot springs in Oregon. It is worth the mile and a half hike through the woods (in a March snow if you like).

Teach, Learn, Share

Sustainability solutions, juggling, & cullinary recipes is what I offer. I am always open to learning new things & sharing ideas.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook meals. Don’t mind helping with the cleaning. I am kind and loving and really enjoy opportunities that bring us together and allow for sharing stories and Co-creating new friendships! Sometimes I bring treats and goodies to share.
