About Me

Hiya! I'm originally from Canada and now live in London, UK. I've also called Paris and New York home over the years. I'm an actor and a writer, and in a past life, I was a tour guide, so I absolutely love diving into the history and culture of wherever I am.
I met my wife while living in Paris, working in a Scottish dive bar where we used to host a Spoken Word Cabaret night. We moved to the UK a couple of years ago to broaden our work opportunities.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I haven’t couchsurfed in a while, but the experiences I had were unforgettable—full of spontaneous adventures, new friendships, and genuine connection. Since then, I’ve done some Workaway trips and kept chasing those meaningful, off-the-beaten-path moments that make travel so special.

I’ve never had the kind of space where I could host (tiny flats, sigh), but I really hope to be able to in the future. In the meantime, I’m all about swapping stories, learning something new, and sharing laughs over good food or a city walk.

Interests

Love a cheeky museum visit, city walk, or a live music event. Fun fact: I used to sing, and play keyboard and mandolin in a folk-rock band. After a long break from singing I'm getting back into training and it's been really fun. I love writing and performing original plays and I'll be heading up to Edinburgh Fringe this summer for the first time with my first solo show. I'm so excited to be there and have that experience!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: rock n roll, jazz, indie, blues, folk, electronic. My taste is pretty eclectic.

Books: Catcher in the Rye, Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Bell Jar, Just Kids, anything by David Sedaris.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been to Lollapalooza, and Bonnaroo music festivals twice. I have also spent 9 months living in New York studying at a theatre conservatory in Midtown Manhattan. In winter of 2016 I spent three months travelling Southeast Asia going through Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Singapore, and Indonesia. The band I used to play in headlined for big acts such as Hey Rosetta!, Big Wreck, and played at NXNE in Toronto.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you have questions about performing or writing true stories, I have a lot of experience in that department. English is my native language, so I'm always happy to help someone improve their language skills. I'm conversational in French and would love the chance to practice more.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share good conversation, plenty of stories (from the stage and the road), and a deep appreciation for wherever I’m staying. I’m always happy to swap travel tips, dive into cultural quirks, or chat about anything from Shakespeare to street food.

As a former tour guide, I’ve got a few fun facts up my sleeve—just say the word! I’m also happy to help out around the house, cook a meal, or just be a respectful, tidy, easygoing guest. Whether you're up for hanging out or just offering a place to crash, I’m grateful either way. I'm generally an early riser and like to go to bed at a reasonable time - though if we're out having fun, I could be swayed to stay a little later! I am a non-drinker/non-smoker.
