_______

Hey everyone, my name is Kajetan and although I've been struggling with what I'm supposed to write in here, I will try, but you know - autopresentation is one of the toughest challenges around.

I grew up in a medium sized city Zabrze, in the Silesian voivodeship, which is quite a interesting place to visit! From the beginning of my life I've always been perceived as a warm, extrovertic and friendly person (or so I've been told!) and I'm fond of making new friends, especially from other countries, because listening stories from around the world is the thing I love the most.

After finishing high school, I decided to study Chinese Studies at the University of Warsaw. That wasn't a hard decision - I love Eastern culture and I hope to delve deeper into it, as I plan to study other Eastern languages and cultures.

I've lived in Aalborg, Denmark between 2020 and 2021 where I acquired my master's degree. In July 2022 I faced a challenge in my life, working at a construction site in Germany in order to earn money to reach my lifelong goal - learn Chinese amongst native speakers. Starting in late August 2022 I have come to Taiwan to continue studying Chinese at the Feng Chia University in Taizhong, finally making my dream come true!

I've also been singing for 3 years in a choir, so I like doing that as well!

I'm a talkative person that likes to discuss anything, just to bring other people and cultures closer, so I hope to have a nice conversation with you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love getting to know people and their stories, as well as their countries' culture and history. I'm looking for ways to get around Europe and the world and see for myself how life comes by in other countries and I hope that Couchsurfing will bring that opportunity to my life.

If you're reading this, tell me about the weirdest thing you've ever eaten, it'll make me really happy that you're reading this far 😊

Music, Movies, and Books

Recently I've been increasingly more interested in techno music and I had taken part in a handful of raves in Poland, Scotland and Denmark. Hopefully I can also explore techno scene in other countries in the future as well.

Generally speaking, I like many kinds of electonic music, but depending on my mood I also like various indie rock bands from Taiwan and Japan, folk music from around the world, or jazz and metal as well. I can say I am very open to new kinds of genres and music experiences.

As for movies, I love Haiyao Miyazaki's animation and Christopher Nolan's filmography. Recently I've been into exploring titles from all around the world like Iran or China and I'd love to keep doing that in my free time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing that I've done and it's still happenning is me keeping on track whilst chasing my dreams, learning languages I've desired and communicating in them is a fantastic feeling.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you a bit about Poland and also share my knowledge of Far East countries I've collected thus far. I'm also into singing, so I hope we can sing Polish and your country's songs together. I really like cooking, I'm not a master in it, but I think we could make something tasty!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share a big, honest smile and long conversations about anything. I simply love getting to know new people, and besides sharing my experiences, knowledge and so on, I would simply want to bring happiness to people that decided to take me in their homes.
