Overview
About Me
Hey, I’m Akaki — trumpet player, music explorer, and sonic storyteller from Tbilisi, Georgia . I'm deep into jazz, downtempo, and experimental electronic sounds, blending live instruments with deep, textured grooves. Music is how I connect with the world.
I’m all about good energy, meaningful conversations, spontaneous jams, and sharing stories over tea (or wine, depending on the night). I appreciate humor, creativity, and the little moments that turn strangers into friends.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I travel to create, connect, and experience. Couchsurfing isn’t just a place to stay — it’s a way to meet inspiring people and be part of something real. I’m currently working on a live set that blends trumpet with electronic production, and I’m excited to share my journey and hear yours.
If you’re into music, art, or simply good conversation, we’ll get along just fine.

Music, Movies, and Books
🎧 Music
Trumpet is my compass, so naturally, Miles Davis is a huge inspiration — especially his later, more experimental phases. I also listen to Yussef Dayes, Christian Scott (aka Chief Adjuah), Ibrahim Maalouf, and Nils Petter Molvær for modern trumpet vibes. On the electronic and downtempo side, I’m into Nicola Cruz, Stimming, Acid Pauli, Luca Musto, and artists from labels like Hug Records, MONADA, and Urban Cosmonaut Radio.
I’m drawn to music that blends acoustic warmth with deep production — anything with soul, space, and a bit of edge.
🎬 Movies
I’m drawn to films with strong atmosphere, strange characters, and bold visuals — think Only Lovers Left Alive, Enter the Void, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Waking Life, Her. I love both dreamy aesthetics and raw, real stories.
📚 Books
Mostly into philosophy, surreal fiction, and poetic writing. I vibe with authors like Haruki Murakami, Albert Camus, Patti Smith, and sometimes something strange from a random second-hand shelf.

Teach, Learn, Share
Teach:
I specialize in trumpet performance and live music production, particularly combining traditional instruments with electronic elements. I can offer guidance on improvisation, developing a live electronic setup, and understanding the intricacies of sound design. If you're looking to deepen your knowledge of music theory, or simply want to explore new techniques in live performance, I’d be happy to share my insights.
Learn:
I'm always seeking to expand my understanding of music theory, production workflows, and innovative performance practices. I’m particularly interested in exploring how different musical cultures influence sound design and live performance. If you have expertise in electronic music production, mixing, or any unique approaches to music, I’m eager to learn from your experiences.
Share:
For me, music is a universal language meant to be shared. Whether it’s through a live performance, collaborative jam, or insightful conversation, I believe in the power of exchange to foster deeper connections. I’m passionate about sharing not only my music but also my journey and the creative processes behind it.
