About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To get my Masters! :)

ABOUT ME

Euhm.... Well. My English isn't all that, so that's one reason to sign up for this. My brother lives in Oslo, and has had people sleeping on his couch from all over the world. I liked the idea and decided to sign up for myself.

Apart from that I'm a hard working student, ahem, or at least I try to be. :) I start two Masters in February and a job as a tour guide in a museum, so my current mission is to succeed in both. :)

PHILOSOPHY

I should just have a great one here because one of my majors is in philosophy but I don't. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live in the middle of the city, so that's a big plus (except for maybe when I want to sleep and the rest of the town doesn't :)) For now I subscribed as "for coffee and drinks" to see how it goes. Not a lot of people are visiting Leiden, but if you do and you really need a couch, I have one. The problem is that I have a really small apartment, so not a lot of privacy when you sleep here.

In a couple of months I will probably move to a bigger place were it is very easy to host, the guest will even have a room on his/her own! :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Boedapest Winter Camp was my first experience at a host, and I completely loved it! :)

Interests

I like going out, hear some nice music and drink a bit of wine/beer..... Who doesn't? :)

  • wine
  • beer
  • coffee
  • drinking
  • music
  • camping
  • tourism

Music, Movies, and Books

I always hate this question because I can't figure out how to write down good examples of my kind of music, books and movies. But I think it's just a bit alternative but not to heavy, or something like that. :)

So I like Bowie, but also the Libertines, Posies and dEUS and Weezer. You can find a better description here: http://www.last.fm/user/karinlammers

With books and movies it's the same. My latest favorite book is "life of pi" and I'm waiting for my download of the new Woody Allen.
As a biologist or maybe just in general, I love the BBC documentaries with David Attenborough (I know, a lot of people hate this guy). I have all the latest dvd's and they're great!!!! :)
Maybe I can blame the Louis Theroux dvd-box on my philosophical side. ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did ride a trial motor for a couple of years, that was one great thing! And sleeping in a tent on the Grand Canyon has to be on this list!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm more a student in this category. :)
