About Me

I'd like to say that I'm always in motion, but I like my chill time like everyone else. I will be 40 this year, but I love the energy and silliness of my younger friends as much as the rambling and responsibility of my older ones.
I live by the Golden rule but I don't expect others to: I am a friends friend, a gentleman (even though I know it's cliche), I have an infectious passion for life (we get to do this one time as far as I know might as well make the most of it), if I can lend a hand I will be there.
I'm highly reflective, and sometimes just sit back and enjoy the moment even in the middle of the chaos. I love having people around and getting to know new ones. The positive energy that great personalities bring is another reason I like Couchsurfing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like the philosophy behind Couchsurfing; having a network of people dedicated to the spirit of travel and helping make a trip not only easier but friendlier in a way too. I enjoy being a part of something dedicated towards making the world just a little better for one another.

Interests

I climb rocks for fun and like to get others into the whole rock climbing world whenever I can. I just finished my first section hike on the Appalachian Trail, and now the idea of getting back out there for more hiking seems to have a strong pull for me.
I brew my own beer, and have developed some sense of pride in good beer. I worked in a wine shop for a while and though I could tell you about hints of currant, conditions of the soil, and such: honestly, it's more fun just to enjoy the wine.
I mountain bike, run, yoga(is that a verb?) grill, camp, garden, and will probably take you up on any other adventure that you have the notion to get into.

Music, Movies, and Books

Short of screaming death metal I love finding new music, my favorite is when a friend plugs their pandora in to share a new station or song they think is amazing.
I'm a Sci-Fi/action guy when it comes to my movies.
I get stuck on young fiction, as I try to keep up with what my students are reading, though I've never tackled to Potter series, I have read a bunch of the others. I think Divergent was my recent young adult favorite, but I have gotten into Marissa Meyer lately. She has re-imagined classic fairy tails into a creative futuristic world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Just one, I guess the idea of being self sufficient while out hiking is a pretty amazing thing to me. It's a simple yet complicated act, but something that I feel a good deal of personal pride in.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've had a wide variety of experiences (from construction to working in a spa), and have become a jack of all trades from the experience. I can fix a car, build a house, grow a garden, climb a mountain, cook in a plethora of styles, and I love to learn new things.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love sharing meals, and good conversation. If you want to learn a little about Rock climbing or brewing beer I'm always excited to share my passion.
