Hi! My name is Kalimah. I’m from Memphis, TN by way of New Orleans, LA currently residing in Portland, OR. I am a filmmaker, artist, writer, community ecologist and I also play the drums. Just now rejoining Couchsurfing (2025) after more than 10 years away. That’s wild to say/ think about!

Hi Couchsurfers, I am currently in Seattle, WA. I am from Memphis, TN. I love meeting good people, making a movie, making an idea, hanging magazine clippings on the wall, flying to the middle of nowhere to meet people to have a good time and leaving them knowing that I probably won't see them again( though there is always the possibility that I wiil. I am into creating magic wherever I go and I'm into goooooooooooiiiiiinnnnnngggggg and returning. I love chips, good food, good movies, and good spaces. I like luxury. I like getting dirty. I've actually started to like to cook, which has been cool.
So there are alot of things to know but sometimes is better to experience them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted around four couch surfers and hope to have more . I stopped using couch surfing around 2013 but now it’s 2025 and I’m back.

I have also attended a couch surfing event which was really fun...more of this to come in the future.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had some great couch surfing experiences. The best I would say was my junior year of school when two graduates stayed at my mother's home in Mississippi. They came down for a Green Jobs conference and we connected on so many levels. I still keep in contact with them today even though one is living in London now.
