About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet interesting and fun people in new places

ABOUT ME

I am a person who has spent an equal amount of time being creative and being business focused. I've lived across Canada and know Vancouver and Toronto-GTA very well.

I am courteous, I can be quiet at times until I get to know and become comfortable around you (just depends I guess on how we click!)

I am currently working to save funds to build a new internet technology and to obtain enough records to run an electronic music format streaming audio station that supports itself. I already stream audio most times at http://pr0k.jumpingcrab.com:80 01/prok.ogg (put that in your computer mp3 player)

I have found the principles of Buddhism touch a deep note within me. I have explored numerous religions and have found organized religion to be more harmful than accessible to who I am.

PHILOSOPHY

I live life to explore and grow my creative thoughts and passions. I will not work for a huge corporation (aka large corporeal body of people with ideologies I do not share simply for larger remuneration).

I do my best to step out of my comfort zones to see new things, explore other peoples lifestyles and points of view.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've couch-surfed in Seattle and San Francisco for extended periods of time plus short stays in Toronto and Vancouver. I would never ask this of anyone I didn't know very well however. I enjoyed the experience of being transient, however I did feel bad that I wasn't paying more to help out considering I had somoene sleep on a couch in my apartment in University for 4 months and know how it feels to want to kick somoene out. I find it hard to ask for extended help after having falling outs with good friends when I had brief moments of strife, however they weren't real friends in the end. I'd never stay with anyone more than a few days due to my past experiences, unless of course I was explicity invited to stay longer.

Interests

electronic music (listenig, creating, spinning), pen and ink original art creation, meeting new people, photography, internet shite, pervy stuff -wholesome human interests-, philosophical discussions, writing

Music, Movies, and Books

! where do I start?! I immerse myself in a wide variety of content which makes picking favourites impossible. I enjoy films such as The Tenant & Macbeth by Polanski, original James Bond flicks, Brazil, Aeon Flux animated, Good Eats cooking show, Tampopo, Millers Crossing, ExistenZ to start. Books: Snowcrash by Neil Stephenson, Difference Engine by Wiliam Gibson, Stranger in a Strange Land by Heinlein (most all by Heinlein), Valis and Golden Man anthology by Philip K Dick (most all by PKD), Beyond the Curve anthology by Kobo Abe (sadly this was taken from my collection).

Music: I have no clue where to start with this. I ran a radio show for 3 years in Ottawa, intitially playing every conceivable genre of music the first year. I have a huge 80's collection, even larger electronic music collection (most all genres). Acid Jazz, spoken word, Ambient, some rock (Grace Jones, Devo, etc). I can hold a convresation about most kinds of music and artists. I am out of the punk loop these days however I enjoy No Means No, Exploited, DRI, etc. I do not dress for any particular 'scene'

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Love Parade 2000 Berlin, Greek Islands 1998, hitch-hiked to SF, road trip through East and West Coasts of US + Mexico as a child, Worked on Xmen3 movie, Hosted-produced a weekly 5 hour radio programme on CKCU FM Ottawa-Carleton from 1992-1994,

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share some computer and internet tutoring, electronic music education, cycling/running partner +. I'm interested in learning more about scuba diving, finding business mentoring, enlightenment without new-age taint, travel stories and recommendations, more I'm sure.
