"I'm couch surfing because I have always been drawn to exploring the unknown world, where I can learn about the new cultures and connect with new friends. Due to budget constraints, my travel dreams were put on hold ,but couch surfing has made it possible for me to experience the world without breaking the bank. I'm excited to meet new people ,learn about their customs, traditions, and way of life, including their food habits, costumes and rituals. I'm also eager to share my own experiences with them. Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC - I enjoy listening to a variety of music ,with a special fondness for Rabindra Sangeet and folk songs. I also appreciate old Hindi movie songs ,which brings back nostalgic memories and evoke a sense of classic charm.

MOVIES -I'm a film enthusiast who enjoys watching a wide range of movies . As a Bengali ,I have a special fondness for the classic films of Satyajit Ray such as Apu trilogy'.'Devi and Jalsaghar.I'm also a fan of Mrinal Sen's film like Khandhar, Ekdin Pratidin, and Kharij as well as Ritwik Ghatak's Meghe Dhaka Tara and Bari Theke Paliye. Additionally I appreciate the works of other notable directors like Aparna Sen, Goutam Ghose, Shyam Benegal, Gulzar, Hrisikesh Mukherjee, Yash Chopra, Neeraj Ghaywan, Jafar Panahi, Abas Kiarostami.

BOOKS- I'm an avid reader with a fondness for Bengali literature and Indian writing in English. I enjoy classic Bengali works by authors like Rabindranath Tagore, Bibhuti Bhusan Bandopadhyay and Manik Bandopadhyay. I'm also drawn to the writings of Mahasweta Devi, Sunil Gangopadhyay and Samaresh Majumder with books like Kalbela, Sei Samay ,Purba Paschim being some of my favourites. Additionally I appreciate the work of authors like Ruskin Bond,Jhumpa Lahiri and Amish Tripathi as well as the timeless stories of james Joyce.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing about my journey to Jharkhand was when I got stuck in a challenging situation due to heavy rains. The local tribal people came to my rescue ,providing me with shelter and hospitality. Their kindness and generosity left a lasting impression on me. Through this experience , I got to know them closely and learned about their rich culture and traditions. Their warmth and welcoming nature made me feel like part of their community, and I'll always be grateful for their help and kindness.

Teach, Learn, Share

TEACH- I'd be happy to teach my mother tongue, Bengali to interested family members .i can share various Indian cultural traditions, such as festival, customs or rituals,

LEARN- I'm eager to learn about different cultures ,traditions and way of life. If yoy're willing to share your experiences and knowledge with me, I'd greatly appreciate it.

SHARE-I'd love to share my experiences and stories about my city, my country, its culture and its people. I'm also happy to share my favourite books,music and movies my host and his family.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As a guest I'm happy to contribute to the household in various ways. I can teach my mother tongue, Bengali, to interested family members. I'm also willing to help with household chores, gardening and running errands(like marketing).If there are kids in the house , I'd be happy to tutor them.Additionally ,I'd love to provide companionship to the elder members of the host family. I'm adaptable and eager to learn , so if there is anything specific you need help with ,please don't hesitate to ask. I'll do my best to assist you wholeheartedly. I'm also committed to respecting your home and way of life, and I'll do my best to fit in and be a considerate guest.
