About Me

Hello! My name is Kameron, and I'm from Illinois in the United States. After graduating from university in 2014, I started traveling with my girlfriend. Over the past year, we travelled all across the U.S. and Canada through the Helpx program, staying with and working for incredible hosts all across the country. This year, I will be living in Galicia, Spain, working as an English language and culture assistant in a Spanish high school.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I would like to meet people living in areas I travel to, rather than just breeze through without really experiencing the local culture. I am also on Couchsurfing because I want to host as many people as possible when I have a couch to offer. I've been very fortunate to meet loads of incredible people as I've travelled, and have made it by on the kindness of strangers more than once. I see Couchsurfing as a way to continue connecting with fellow travelers, and to return the kindness that others have shown me.

Interests

I enjoy chatting, cooking, reading, music, movies, adventuring, meeting new people, disc golf or ultimate frisbee, hiking, and learning nearly anything.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies and can talk for far too long about them. I really enjoy older movies, foreign (to the U.S.) films, and am always looking for suggestions!

Some of my favorite bands are Andrew Jackson Jihad, Larry and his Flask, The Mountain Goats, Murder by Death, Tom Waits, the Tallest Man on Earth, and The National.

I'll read most books that are handed to me, and love nearly anything from Kurt Vonnegut, Christopher Moore, or Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I also like the odd bit of poetry.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm happy to cook for anybody, and even happier if you have recipes to share! I can also share good conversation and am always up to chat over a good coffee.
