Overview
About Me
My name is Kamille, and I have been working as a tree planter both in Northern Ontario & Québec since 2015. This fall, I am finally going back to school in business administration after a gap of 5 years, where I traveled around my province in search of who I am and what I was aspiring to be. Ironically enough, I've always been highly attracted to traveling the world, but I was never able to achieve that dream, I'd say mostly because I did not want to travel for the right reasons, as I was mostly looking for a way to escape. Now that I am more stable, I finally have the confidence of crossing the sea.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Traveling is expensive and it is hard to meet people, especially when you're in an unfamiliar place. Couch surfing seems to be a great way of saving money as well as meeting locals - and making friends on the way!
Interests
I studied classical literature and I write for a feminist fashion blog in Montreal. I am into video games and anything nerdy or geeky. I love dinosaurs and birds, and would love to share book recommendations!

Music, Movies, and Books
Books : «L'écume des jours» (Boris Vian), «Le torrent» (Anne Hébert), «Justine» (Lawrence Durrel), «L'art du Maquillage» (Sergio Kokis), «La peste» (Albert Camus), «Ce que le jour doit à la nuit» (Yasmina Khadra)...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'd say tree planting is quite amazing (and awful lol!).
Two seasons in the forest, without technology (or little), working hard planting trees no matter the weather (drought, heavy rain or snow...) and the condition of my land (swamps, hills, etc). With wasps and black flies following me around. It is quite the experience!
Teach, Learn, Share
Did you know that chicken are closer relatives to the T-Rex than reptiles?
What I Can Share with Hosts
Well, many things, but I guess it depends on each host...
I can teach French and how to do poutine ''Quebec's style''. I can also share stories about my home culture or about my work as a tree planter. Or random facts about birbs and dinosaurs.
