About Me

I was born and raised in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. My native language is Tajik (dialect of Persian) but I am fluent in Russian since I went to Russian school in childhood. Came to US to get my Master's and stayed since then. I work full time for IU and till recently resided in Bloomington, IN. Now ready for new chapter in my life and looking for new place in US to establish roots.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Never couchsurfed before. First time learnt about it through travel TV show and my friend recommended to create profile. I love traveling, if I didn't I most likely would not end up so far from my hometown and relatives. :) I am very open to meeting new people. I am extrovert around friendly people and like to chat about different things. But also like and appreciate privacy times, especially if learning drawing or surfing web.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all kind of music and have no specific preference. But I mostly appreciate folk music , especially traditional persian/middle eastern tunes. Love sci-fi, appreciate indie and European movies. Haven't read a book in many many years but used to love reading Jules Verne.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Can't think of amazing things I've done. Usually amazing things happened to me in life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

hmm, let's see...I can teach how to cook traditional tajik (Samarkand style) dishes though I am not great cook. Tell about Samarkand culture/traditions and Uzbekistan in general, discuss anything Russian and Soviet related topics. I am sure we can always find some common interesting topic - more important to have open mind and interest in learning new things.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Indonesia, Israel, Russian Federation, South Korea, Ukraine

Countries I’ve Lived In
