Hey Fellow CouchSurfers (CS)
I am Karan and I work as a researcher on plant natural products. To be honest, my work is fun because I trick yeast to make plant products by cloning plant genes into yeast.
But I do get exhausted, and that is the time when travel comes into my mind. I am fairly new to CS which I started only once I arrived in Germany. It's been challenging to meet new people in Germany especially with language barriers. That was the time, I boarded on CS.

Initial experience on CS seems to be amazing and memorable. I am good at hospitality so feel free to drop a message in case you wish to request a stay or for a causal hangout.

I know good Indian restaurants within the city so if you have craving for Indian food, I am always open to dine out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I do not know many people in Germany so for me the only opportunity to know new people is when I host them Thanks to CS community for building such a unique platform.

Interests

Photography is a side passion for me which I am trying to gradually develop further. Whenever time permits, I go out close to nature and capture memories in pixels through my Google pixel camera.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen mostly Indian music because somehow I do not enjoy western music. I always fascinate about reading voraciously but that's a work still in progress. Deep work is one book which I am enjoying.

When it comes to movies I like Swades with the lead actor as Shahrukh Khan. Do try to watch it. I am sure some of you may like it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

All travel experiences for me are amazing but if I have to pick one - my trip to Königssee last year during my parents visit was a memorable and amazing.
And also once I spent 48 hours on the train for a journey that was only 12 hours.

Teach, Learn, Share

Since I am a researcher/scientist, I do teach university students. The overall journey to begin with was challenging but I am happy I am doing well. Teaching international students for me as an Indian is a happy moment and I feel good when students are happy.
