ABOUT ME

i am a wild thing that gets stronger the longer you hold me down. i believe in my heart that the world is a place full of good, it just takes the optimistic soul to recognize it through the pain that often surrounds us. after graduating high school, i was ready for a new place, new people, and a new style. i moved to louisiana, where i didnt know a soul, and really learned who i was as a person. i love art, looking at it or making it, and have found that my problems don't seem so large when my paintbrush is in hand. i strive to never lose the child within me, so i roller blade, climb trees, and jump into lakes in the winter. i love getting hand-me-downs, drinking out of the hose, and staring in awe of how vast the ocean is, every time i see it. im super into the outdoors and have a secret desire to live in my hammock on the beach for the rest of my life.

PHILOSOPHY

'my life had gone to bits and i was so unrecognizable to myself that i probably couldnt have picked me out of a police lineup. but i felt a glimmer of happiness in traveling, and when you sense a faint potentiality for happiness after such dark times you must grab onto the ankles of that happiness and not let go until it drags you face-first out of the dirt - this is not selfishness, but obligation. you were given life; it is your duty, and also your entitlement as a human being, to find something beautiful within life, no matter how slight.' -elizabeth gilbert

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

a traveler is a part of who God created me to be. i don't believe that i could look back at my life and feel satisfied if i didn't take every opportunity to soak in the beauty surrounding me. im at the beginning of my traveling journeys, but have realized that if i want to do this, it may require me getting up and going out there alone. the couchsurfers i have met so far have been some of the most intelligent, beautiful, and wholly satisfied people i have ever met. to begin this journey was one of my proudest moments.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

as you can probably imagine, there is not much in the sweet little town of Ruston, Louisiana. BUT! in the past, i would be willing to bet that our couch surfers have had a good time. how could you not enjoy yourself on the roof of an old theater staring at the stars? or breaking into an old building through a hole in the floorboards? originally a city girl, stuck in a country town, finds a way to make fun.
