Overview
About Me
Well, I'm a 29 year old Egyptian man who likes to smile, have a good time, and share a laugh! I have studied and lived in Kamloops for the last nine years while exploring some parts of B.C and Alberta. I'm originally from Egypt, but I was born in Kuwait, and raised in Qatar. I look middle eastern, but I dress, act, and speak like a North American which throws people as to where I'm originally from.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I believe in the philosophy "help me, help you" and also because an adventure can be priceless with memories, not with price tags :-)
Interests
I'm huge movie buff, be it on Netflex or Cineplex, ranging from suspense to comedy, classics to New age... it's always a joy to watch. I also like to do karaoke with friends and goof around while doing it. I also like to explore new places in a a new town or city, even for just a couple of hours... you never know what hidden gems you'll find(I found really good places to shop and dine). I try out new and exciting cultural cuisines from all over the world, even weird ones that shy away from :-)

Music, Movies, and Books
For music, it all depends on good beats the emotion it evokes in both Arabic and English genres. Movies: I generally like movies that are classics with a good plot twist and/or that are visually enticing with rich history. Books: I like to read classics or espionage/world destruction.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was volunteering in the middle east with ROTA(Reach Out To Asia), a group of volunteers including myself were in house renovation project where we spend 5 days rejuvenating the interior aspect of a house that a family in poverty owned. My team and I(as their leader) were shorthanded while talking a boys and girls bedroom and it was so hot in our area that we had to rest periodically to prevent ourselves from getting a heat stroke. We we tasked with leveling an uneven wall with cement to create a smooth plane(which was very challenging) along with filling cracks with putty and sanding in preparation for painting. We were up against another team who were tackling a master bedroom and the guest bedroom. Sure, they were not short handed, but they were slacking off with excessive chatting and goofing off more than working. Despite that notion, I determined to lead my team to victory by strategizing the priority of the tasks at hand and place skilled individuals in those dire areas. With luck and elbow grease, our team managed to complete the tasks at hand in each room and painted them in two days while the other team took three days not even remotely close to finish. when quality inspection came, our supervisor was impressed with the quality our team put in during those two days that we were given commendations for our excellent team effort while the other team worked overtime while fuming with rage and jealousy... how's that for amazing?
Teach, Learn, Share
I found that simple life hack blog, even though meager at first glance, can be a miraculous act of simplifying daunting everyday tasks that used to take forever to complete. For example, you can reduce the stink of the onion by cutting off the ends and heat it for 35 sec. before chopping. You can peel the skin off of garlic cloves by microwaving it for 15 sec. Vodka mixed with water and some scented oils can your home made febreeze... quite innovative with tools found in your own home :-)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my love of cooking at home(I have a awesome recipe book that I got for Christmas that screams deliciousness), I can help out the hosts with chores around the house, I can share cultural traits and etiquette from my middle eastern background in comparison with the Western culture, and I can contribute with monetary means by splitting food costs and others...
