About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To bring the Siesta back to North America....and have it become Socially Acceptable

ABOUT ME

I am first and foremost a traveler, seeker, and student of the human experience. People, places, and other cultures fascinate me and I am always eager to experience new things and take part in new adventures. A bit of a wild-child in my "younger" years, currently enjoying a slower, calmer approach to travel and life. I have been learning to sit back a bit and enjoy the process of watching life unfold- as it always ends up different and better than we would have ever expected :)

PHILOSOPHY

"A person susceptible to wanderlust is not so much addicted to movement as committed to transformation"

Be Present, Be Careful with your Words, Pay Attention to your Thoughts, Learn to Sit in Non-Judgemental Observation, Be Patient, Be Willing to Accept, Do Not Fear the Unkown

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been lucky enough to have experienced both fantastic hosts and surfers over the years- nothing but positive experiences all around. I look at couch surfing as more of a lifestyle-it extends beyond this website and encompasses a spirit of togetherness with your fellow travelers and common man. It promotes sharing, exchange, and camaraderie that lends itself to multiple situations.

Interests

Laughter, good conversation, adventures, skiing!, cooking good food, reading good books, gsailing, kayaking, generally anything involving water and sun, good wine, walking around a new place for hours with no agenda, fun-having, taking in live music, meditation retreats, people with stories to tell

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite authors include David Sedaris, Barbara Kinsolver, Jung...I'm a sucker for Dexter, True Blood, and Downton Abbey....Pearl Jam will always have a special place in my heart however I LOVE all types of "good" music, too long of a subject to go into here....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Quite a few years ago, I bought a backpack and a ticket to Bangkok. I took off alone with too little cash, too little information, and too much confidence.....It forever changed the course of my life, how I view the world and the people in it...I have never looked back :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Things I love that I can give a few pointers in: ski instruction (alpine and cross-country), bartending (spent 10 years behind a bar, I can whip up a mean cocktail), energy balancing-clearing (ask me for an explanation), guided meditation tools/techniques

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Bahamas, Cambodia, Canada, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Laos, Romania, Thailand, Turkey, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
