Karen: I have travelled extensively, but still have a number of places I would like to visit on my list. I have taken a month off work to travel and am looking forward to some new experiences around the world. My daughter Wylee and I are looking for ways to enrich our adventures.

Wylee: I am the daughter. I am 19 years old and headed to Australia for an academic exchange and will be travelling with my mom before my semester starts.
I have travelled to China, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, Italy, Mexico, United States and Greenland. I am a very active person and love exploring the cultural and natural side of countries

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We would like to experience the local flare of the places we visit, not just be tourists. We would also like to stretch our travel $ where possible.

Interests

Karen: I love being near the water and want more from life than the family I was born into and the job I have had for a lifetime. I enjoy long walks in the morning, sunsets by the beach and people of all ages.

Wylee: I love the outdoors and the sea air. I enjoy learning about aboriginal cultures of the areas I visit and learning some phrases in the languages I encounter on my travels. I enjoy people of all ages as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

Karen: I enjoy all types of music, love films with a twist and need a book that takes me on a journey of sorts.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Karen: I met the same couple three times in a year in three different countries without ever having their contact information.

Wylee: I've sat in a zodiac below a glacier as it began to cave. It looked like a whole building sinking below a watery floor and coming back up to turn over.
