I'm an adventurous woman playing way beyond my years. I live in beautiful Portland, Oregon where it's quite easy to get around without a car, so I do. I haven't owned a car for 18 years: I bike, transit and Zipcar. I enjoy long distance cycling, downhill skiing, working on my house, good friends and meeting new friends.

What a wonderful way to meet people and learn more about their countries. That's it! Oh, and my travel money will go farther. I used a homestay website in the Netherlands in 2017 and after a day of cycling was welcomed each evening into a friendly Dutch home. I'm eager to use Couchsurfing with the same results.
