I have retired from 2 careers and love to travel. I am currently looking into getting a residence visa in Portugal. I have a trike and am a beginning to take week long trips on it (had started a 6 week trip but due ti the fires out west and a overheating issue returned after 4 days). I love so many things in life from cooking. gardening, hiking, teaching, scuba diving, waterfalls and on and on.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel and met new people.
I like to go to where the locals go, non-tourist spots that you may not find without a local to show you.
Hotels can eat a big part of my travel budget and also I found during my first bike trip, it was really hot and what I needed was to leave early in the am, once the heat picked up, stop for a nap then continue the ride when it cooled down some and later stop for the night. Having to pay for two hotel rooms in one day is a lot of wasted money.
I like to travel without an itinerary or at least not a precises itinerary and a lot of times do not know where I will end up. I am hoping I will have some luck with very short notice requests on this site.
