About Me

Hello everyone! =)

My name is Karen and I live in Sacramento, CA in the USA. Although, I was raised all over Los Angeles county. I am outgoing, adventurous, funny and friendly. I would love to be more spontaneous, travel, meet more new people as I travel along and hear some great stories. I believe life is for the living and we need to take advantage of all it offers.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As most of you know traveling does cost a pretty penny and when your on a budget even hostels start to look expensive. With that being said, a couple of college friends and I will be traveling all across Europe for our after college adventure.
It seems as if we all are at that point in our lives where we need to take a break, clear our heads and really learn what we want out of life. We want to taste freedom and life at their fullest and travel where our hearts desire. We want to explore ourselves along with our surroundings.
We will be visiting Sweden, Ireland, England, France, Italy, Spain, and Germany in a span of a month and a half. Our expenses are adding up and we would appreciate any help at all.

Traveling #1. Eating & drinking new thing #2. My new hobby is working out. Hiking and camping all sorts of landscapes. Painting mainly landscapes. I like listening to all sorts of music (rap, hip hop, alternative, country, rock, Spanish, etc.). Swimming, watching movies (all kinds), watching sports, taking long road trips, helping the community, volunteering and hanging out with friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Fell from a plane from 3000 ft in the air aka skydiving. It was amazing. My friend fainted on the way down and that was crazy. Needles to say they crash landed.

Teach, Learn, Share

My friends and I are part of this organization Mujeres Ayudando La Raza (M.A.R.) of California State University, of Sacramento. M.A.R. is a non-profit, co-educational; primarily Latina/Chicana based organization that serves as a support group for Chicanas and Latinas. Our objective is to promote academic excellence by aiding in the retention of our members in the University. Mujeres Ayudando La Raza is also committed to the welfare of Chicanas and Latinas in the community as well as the Chicano/Latino population as a whole. Through our community involvement, we strongly encourage the awareness of culture and heritage. Simultaneously, we emphasize the diversity that exists within the University and the community. As members we strive to uphold these goals to the best of our abilities.
As you can see we are very involved in community service and spreading the knowledge of acquiring higher education. We have workshops and an annual Youth Conference to expose our youth to this information.

I can also teach English and Spanish. I know how to repair glasses and I know a bit about finances. I would love to learn more practical skills like how to cut hair and mechanical engineering.

I would also like to learn more about your local area and the hidden treasures that lie within your city.
