I live in Los Angeles and I work as a policy analyst for a tech startup that provides (mostly) nonprofits a legislative analysis and government relations service. In a more big picture sense, I'm interested in urban planning, sustainability, and the environment and might end up back at school for that some day.
Likes: Backpacking, mountains, any and all animals, figure drawing, found art, derping around my vegetable garden, Game of Thrones, pickup games of soccer/frisbee/horse/whatev, bicycle commuting, long runs, doing backflips, wine, hoppy beer.
I'm a pretty low maintenance guest. I'm down to hang out if you have time, but I'm very good at being a solo traveller.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I started using Couch Surfing in 2010, just after I graduated college in Michigan. One of my closest friends and I hatched a plan to hitchhike across the country, from San Francisco all the way to North Carolina. He and I eventually made it all the way to New York, flying high on the amazing luck and faith in humanity we had from meeting hundreds of diverse and kind folks from all walks of life, through our rides and also through our Couch Surfing hosts.
Since that epic adventure, I've Couch Surfed in Ecuador, Europe, Turkey, and back in the good ol' homeland. I hosted a little while I lived in Beirut, Lebanon for grad school when my schedule allowed. My accommodations and roommate situation aren't currently ideal to hosting, but I dream of the day when I have a guest room available so I can pay it forward in full.
Mainly, I love Couch Surfing because it fosters connection between humans and that, to me, is just the best.
My favorite thing is to be on the move and trying anything once. I'm a happy camper as long as I'm in good company, especially if I'm outside.
