About Me
Hi there,
I love good conversations, dry humor, and have a weakness for animals – any kind, really. If you have pets, I’ll probably fall in love with them before I even say hello to you. I speak German, English, and French, and I’ve learned that the best travel stories usually start with “I stayed at someone’s place and we ended up talking until 2am.”
Couchsurfing is perfect for me because I travel to connect – not just to collect photos. I like getting a glimpse of how people live and think. And I am happy to make new friends for life! But no pressure! ;-)
Oh, and I make a mean omelet. No exaggeration. It’s legendary (or at least I think so).
I don’t smoke, I’m clean, respectful, and I always appreciate when someone’s willing to open their door to a stranger with a backpack and a good story.
Looking forward to meeting lovely and interesting people along the way – maybe you?
Cheers,
Karin
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Why I enjoy staying with strangers (a.k.a. future friends)
Let’s be honest — hotels are fine if you enjoy overpriced mini bars and talking to beige walls. But I prefer something more real. Staying with locals turns a trip into a story worth telling. I love the little things: chatting over coffee, learning local quirks, and maybe even sharing an omelette (I make a mean one, by the way).
I believe the world is full of kind strangers — and Couchsurfing is just a shortcut to finding them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was in Atlanta, sitting on a curb with my backpack at six in the morning, waiting for the sun to rise and the cafés to open. Then suddenly a homeless man came by. He approached me, and I thought he was going to beg for money.
But he didn’t.
Instead, he simply wanted to let me know that there was a church around the corner where I could get a hot coffee and a sandwich, and he invited me to go there.
Tears came to my eyes, and life reminded me once again how often I judge too quickly — and made me deeply grateful for traveling, for these moments that constantly challenge my prejudices.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some German. But why would you want that? :) But mainly I want to spend time with you because nothing is better than meeting people and beeing inspired by their beautyful minds.
