About Me

I have traveled a bit in life and always booked into hotels. I am in my late 40's and the couch surfing concept was just so foreign to me and I have always been skeptic about it. Over the past 2 - 3 years a whole lot of my friends who travel, have recommended couch surfing so I thought I would sign up and see how it works (and if I'm brave enough to do this :)

I have a daughter and the most beautiful granddaughter in the world, ok so I may be a bit bias.

I love life, love laughing and am by nature a positive person.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I find the concept quite scary especially growing up in South Africa but have been living in New Zealand for the past 10 years and have come to accept that Hotel's may not be the only way of traveling, that perhaps I could meet really lovely people sharing their culture with me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music but especially a band called Third Day. I love music and have music playing all day every day.
My favorite movie - well that hard to choose, Serendipity would probably be high on my list as well as War Room and anything with Jennifer Aniston.
My favorite Book - Man I have so many, Caroline Leaf, Dr. Libby, Karen Kingsbury, Francine Rivers are amongst my favorite.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Backpacked through Canada with my daughter for 6 weeks over December (2013) and January (2014). It was freezing cold but it was an experience of a lifetime !

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe learning should be an ongoing life experience. We should always be open to learning and I think it's vital that we share our leanings and experience so others can benefit from this too.

Sharing life and life experiences is just as important as sharing what we have physically. I believe very much in the "what you give so shall you receive" concept.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My Culture, where I am from, who I am and hopefully I learn the same from them.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Canada, Cook Islands

Countries I’ve Lived In
