Hi, My name is Karina Cohen.
Im an American Brazilian citizen. Grew up in New York until I was 12 years old, to then move to Brazil. I currently live in Florianopolis, a surfing capital and island in the south of Brazil. I am extremely communicative, and helpful. and love meeting and making new friends. Especially because we never know who they might be, and who can open new doors for us later in life. I work as a fashion stylist and costume designer for advertisement television, and for fashion shoots. I´m just looking to for some time, to travel, meet new places, and get new experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Im couchsurfing, because its a way that we (foreigners) and travelers, can get to know each place and city, through someone else´s view of the city, or town. its a way to get the real feeling of each place, to see where locals go, how life is. Im a foodie. and love to eat in places that locals consider amazing. even it being street food. But, im also couchsurfing because, i don´t have all the means money wise to be able to stay in hotel, or pay for an apartment. for now at least.

Im pretty eclectic. music, I like from Bossa Nova, R&B, Jazz and Blues. To Hip hop, pop and eletronic. depends on my mood, state of mind, etc.
Im a complete movie buff. And love to watch movies, expecially because Im a costume designer. So, I like to see the whole thing from behind.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Its hard to say one thing that w´ve done. or even think of ourselves as something we´ve done thats amazing. I can say, that i´ve overcome obsticles in many travels and points of life that made them amazing. or met people that made it amazing. everything is a part of it´s experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I Love sharing experiences, learning new costumes, ideals, point of views, traditions. And im always willing to teach someone something i can offer to teach.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I will most definitly never come to someone´s house open handed. So, because i live in Brazil. I always like to take a little souvenier. no matter what it shall be. And i can share experiences. I can help around the house, keep it kneet, and clean. taking care of my space wisely.
