About Me
Hi! I am Karina, I am 20 years old and I love travelling! Right now I am an Erasmus student at the University of Groningen in Netherlands and for me this is a beautiful opportunity to explore the world.
My long time dream is to become a movie director, cinema is my biggest passion and my biggest love. I watch movies endlessly, I do cinema studies and I love discussing them with other people
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I feel like staying with a local person is the only way to truly experience a place from the inside! The most amazing trip I've ever had was this summer - I was at a work camp in Italy, helping organize a music festival, where I stayed with a sweet, welcoming family. The weekend trips we had, the dinners we cooked together, the nights we spent dancing - that's when I knew I am never staying at a hotel again :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a very widespread love for music, few of my favorites are: The White Stripes, Florence + the Machine, Auktyon, Naadya, Queens of the Stone Age, Foals, Warpaint, The Black Keys, The Dead Weather, The Kills, LCD Soundsystem, Electric Six, Gorillaz, Massive Attack and many many more!!
But with movies it's a lot harder, because there's too many! I would say my favorite directors are Quentin Tarantino, Denis Villeneuve, Wes Anderson, Coen brothers, Alejandro G. Iñárritu, Guy Ritchie and Andrey Zvyagintsev.
As for books, my favorite ones yet would be The Education of Little Tree, To Kill a Mockingbird, One Hundred Years of Solitude, One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, Crime and Punishment and The Martian Chronicles.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This August during my work camp in the south of Italy I went to a beautiful and breathtaking attraction - Ponte Alla Luna. It translates as "A Bridge to the Moon" and it's an amazing experience of walking through a 300m metal rope bridge, hanging at the height of 120m between two mountain peaks. And guess what: when I went there, I was scared of heights! I really didn't know if I could do it, during first few steps I was shaking as a leaf. But a ffew moments later, I released myself and saw one of the most mezmerizing views I've ever witnessed, the biggest dose of adrenaline and together an incredible experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach you some Russian, a bit of Armenian and how to make traditional Russian/Armenian meals! (I love cooking) Also I love discussing movies, music and exchanging culture, so I am curious in learning pretty much anything from you :p
What I Can Share with Hosts
I would definetely bring treats with me from The Netherlands to my hosts. If you've never tried original stropwaffels - you must! And if you're not keen on learning how to cook - I would enjoy cooking something for you :)
And if you're ever in Russia, I could give you an insider tour of Moscow :)
