About Me

* * * * *

Hi, I am Karina. Polish girl with a huge longing for the unknown.
Yoga teacher and personal trainer, who is absolutely addicted
to movement and is constantly hungry to discover something new.
Hitchhiker and wanderer, whose previous choices led her
to live in a Netherlands, where I continue building my craft.
I cook with passion, I speak fast and I enjoy simple yet meaningful things.

Last decade of living abroad contributed to a lot of personal and spiritual growth. I've taken on a solo expedition during which I hitchhiked through Australia and South East Asia, staying on an extremely low budget loosing all my money and my phone in the process. Hitting my absolute zero in the bank forced me to discover new ways of travelling and experiencing the surroundings. Through the hospitality and help of the locals, I visited and stayed in the most random but also the most incredible places. These times were huge eye opener and inspiration towards alternative type of living. I've learned simple life, appreciation for every little thing that comes around, I've found my ground. Now, I am back in Europe, I am trying to implement some of that wisdom, while teaching people how to move better.

Consistency is the last refuge of the unimaginative. I don't like to sit still. I love learning new things, sharing good honest conversations, I love getting creative and being out in the nature, people watching from a cosy cafe, painting, making chocolate from stratch. Wholesome actions brings more wholesome actions so let's smile to strangers, be open and kind to one another.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Opportunity to meet new interesting human beings and see beautiful places. I'm eager to learn from anyone that visits me or I visit. I do use hostels now and then but couchsurfing offers a bit more authentic and organic way to travel. Experience the place from a perspective of a local. I am also pretty independant so you really do not have to feel pressure to be my tour guide (:

Interests

I try to provide my body with a healthy dose of endorphins so I move daily. I practice yoga, pilates, handbalancing, acroyoga and partner acrobatics, bouldering, aerial silk, animal flow, strength training, dance, calistenics.

I love food, nutrition, interesting recipes and combinations. I am a massive peanut butter addict. Not a vegan anymore!

Street art (any kind of art really), music, meditation, spirituality, scrap books, space, science, foreign languages, human behaviour, festivals, swimming, roller coasters, tea & coffee, TV series, nature, photography, stories, architecture, vintage and old things, medicinal herbs and smokables, magic.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like the music that wakes up my senses and moves the soul. I listen to almost all kinds of music, with my personal favourites going towards gloomy indie, soul, organic house and techno. I love hearing new things and genres so go on and inspire me with your music taste.

I am not so big on movies but I am trying to change that. I am more of a TV series kind of girl.

I like sciency books, some non-cheesy self-help books but also stories. Women who run with the Wolves, Breath, Midnight Library, Never Ending Story.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Oh man, there is so much more than 'one amazing thing' we do in life. Some of the most magical moments though: watching the night sky from the Sahara Dessert, completing 10 days Vipassana Meditation retreat twice, spending the night at the Cambodian police station, witnessing the traditional shamanic celebration for the New Year at one tiny village in the mountains of Laos.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my home with you, a home cooked meal, a secret how to make chocolate. You are super welcome to join my yoga/movement class or ask me for some personalised tips. We can do some acroyoga as well (:

I am learning how to dance different styles, how to cook new recipes and I guess how to be less ignorant and more considerate in the modern day of people turning against each other.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share some moves with you, make you fly on my feet, help you stand on your hands. I am happy to share some healthy cooking and lifestyle tips, my language and my native cuisine. I can offer you a nutritional advice or a personal yoga/fitness session. I will most probably cook for you.
