Whilst my family was young we used to spend our holidays in a Volkswagen Campervan. Since my children are grown-ups now I'd like to experience a different and yet similar type of travelling and meeting nice people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My children talked about their positive and interesting experiences whilst couchsurfing. The personal contact and hints what to look for in an area are something which one can't rate high enough, especially if you don't want to be the ordinary tourist.

I am interested in the history and geography of countries. I also like to meet people and get an insider's view of places.

I like to listen to classical music if it well presented but i also like jazz.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I am doing an amazing thing at the moment. I have accompanied pupils to stay with their host students for a few weeks. And now for the first time for many years I am planning and conducting a "holiday" on my own.

A different outlook on life, a European, German view on environmental issues, etc.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am experienced in touring in a small camper and therefore able to enjoy the "simple" life and picnics.
