ABOUT ME

I am a Peace Corps Volunteer currently serving in Bitola, Macedonia. I work for a local NGO and am involved in several other youth development projects around Macedonia.

PHILOSOPHY

I think having a philosophy is great and all... but... they are philosophies for a reason and often difficult to live and practice. I think that you have to be flexible enough to realize that no philosophy can contain you. But, I guess that's a philosophy in its own right, so despite that... I would say that the philosophy that keeps me the most grounded and centered is:

"Realize deeply that the present moment is all you have. Make the now the primary focus of your life."

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to CS, but I have often relied on the kindness of strangers in life and so decided to open myself up to help others as well. I like hosting people at my home, but I'm something short of a seasoned traveler. I hope that during my stay here I will have a chance to travel and see some more of the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I just started using CS, but before coming to the Peace Corps I spent the summer couch surfing with friends in North Carolina. Although at times it was taxing because it required letting go of so much control, I think it was a great exercise to prepare me for my new life here. Looking back it was a lot of fun, and looking forward I hope to use those experiences to help form my couch surfing experiences for the future both in hosting and surfing.

Interessen

I enjoy listening to music, watching movies, reading books. I like photography and graphic design, computers in general, anything geeky. I also love to write and story tell. I enjoy people, hearing and sharing stories, helping when I can, and just overall weaving new people into the tapestry of my life. I also enjoy my solitude and leaving time for 'me'
