About Me

Hey there!
I'm Karol, 19 and chasing the world with an open heart and a backpack.
I’m just getting started on my travel journey, and I already know this: the best part of every place is the people you meet along the way. That’s why I’m here — not just to see new cities, but to really connect, share stories, laughs, meals, and moments that stick with you long after the trip ends.
I’m an easygoing, kind and curious person. I love learning about other cultures, trying new foods (especially if we cook together!), and just spending time with good people. I don’t need much — a place to sleep and a little bit of conversation goes a long way.
I love hiking and outdoors adventures, always travel with a smile, and try to be a positive presence wherever I go. If I stay with you, I’ll gladly help around the house, cook something Polish (or try your favorite local dish!), and I’m always up for a good chat — deep, silly, or somewhere in between.
I believe that every couch, every host, every home has its own magic — and I’m grateful for every opportunity to experience it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m here because I believe that traveling is not just about places — it’s about people. Hotels are fine, but they can never replace the feeling of being welcomed into someone’s home, sharing a meal, a laugh, a story.
As a young traveler, I want to experience the world in the most real and human way possible. For me it isn’t just a way to find a place to sleep — it’s a way to make connections, to learn how other people live, to see the world through someone else’s eyes, even just for a night or two.
I also want to grow — as a person, as a traveler, as a human being. And I truly believe that the best way to do that is through meeting others, listening, helping, and sharing.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music taste is a bit like my travels — all over the place, in the best way possible. It really depends on my mood. Some days I’m dancing to catchy reggaeton or smooth salsa beats (anything with that sunny Latin vibe gets me moving!), and other days I’m vibing to classic rock — a bit of Queen, Nirvana, The Beatles… timeless stuff that just never gets old.
I also love discovering local music wherever I go — it’s like getting to know a country through its rhythm and soul. So if you’ve got a favorite song from your city or country, I’d love to hear it!
When it comes to series and films, I’m really into anything that plays with the mind a bit — psychological thrillers, intense dramas, or clever crime stories. One of my all-time favorite shows is Vis a Vis — I loved the characters, the tension, and the raw emotion. I also enjoy shows that make you think, feel, or just keep you hooked till 2 a.m.
I’m always open to a good movie night or sharing recommendations

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was just 11 years old, I made one of my biggest dreams come true — I traveled alone to the United States to visit my family. What makes this story really special is that I started saving for this trip when I was only 6 years old.
I cleaned for neighbors, helped out wherever I could, and even picked blueberries in the forest to earn a little extra money. Every coin felt like a tiny piece of a big dream. It took years of patience, work, and determination — but I never gave up.
Finally, at 11, I boarded a plane on my own — full of excitement, a little bit of nervous energy, but mostly pride. That journey didn’t just take me across the ocean, it showed me what’s possible when you believe in something and work for it — even as a kid.
That first adventure sparked a fire in me: a love for exploring, meeting new people, and chasing dreams — no matter how far away they seem.

Teach, Learn, Share

What I can share:
Good energy, a positive attitude, and a big smile. I'm always happy to help around the house, cook something simple and tasty (maybe even a Polish dish!), or just share stories over tea. I love talking about road trips — I’ve traveled quite a bit and have some cool stories to share! I can also help you practice English or Polish if you’re learning either.
What I can teach:
I can teach you about Polish culture, traditions, and customs — from the unique holidays we celebrate to little-known facts about the country. I also have a lot of experience with road trips, so if you’re interested in traveling through Poland (or even Europe), I’d be happy to share tips and itineraries. Of course, I’d be glad to teach you some basic phrases in Polish so you can impress locals when you’re there!
What I want to learn:
Honestly — everything! I’m curious about how people live, what they eat, what makes them laugh, and how they see the world. I’d love to learn new words in your language, try your favorite local food, and hear your travel stories. If you have any road trip recommendations or cultural insights from your country, I’m all ears!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I believe that hosting is about more than just providing a place to stay — it’s about connecting and sharing experiences. I can share a lot with you! First, I’d love to introduce you to Polish culture and traditions, tell you about our unique holidays, and maybe even teach you a few words in Polish. I think it’s always fun to impress locals with the language when you visit their country! I also have plenty of travel stories to share — I’ve done a few road trips and traveled solo, so I can offer tips for traveling on a budget and suggest amazing places to visit in Poland and beyond.
If you’re into food, I can cook some traditional Polish dishes for you or share recipes and show you how to make them yourself. Besides food, I’m always happy to just be good company — whether it’s a relaxed conversation about life, travel, or just sharing funny stories and laughs. I also don’t mind helping around the house, whether it’s cleaning, cooking, or just lending a hand with everyday tasks. My goal is to make sure our time together is enjoyable, and that you feel comfortable and at ease.
I’m excited to meet new people, learn from them, and share whatever I can!
