Hola,

I am Karolina, I am currently studying German and American Studies in Mainz, and I am working in a vegan café around the corner of our flat.

I am sharing this awesome apartment with two lovely flatmates. But we don't only share the apartment, we also have become friends over time. We create a common life. We are still in touch with the first-generation inhabitants of the flat. So this is my beloved "WG-Familie".
However, is a time of transition now because my two flatmates are moving out this summer and we are looking for cool people to take over their rooms :)

As for me, I am planning to write my bachelor's thesis in the 2019/20 winter term. I have also found it increasingly important to take my time for activities like yoga, dancing, acting, learning languages, cooking, etc. I am interested in incredibly many things, and I love expanding my skills.

I have been struggling to find the balance between communal time and me-time before because I am both a lover of good company but also need independence to feel happy. I don't like the feeling of people slowing me down in my projects; but I can get very close to people if I feel mutual acceptance, sharing and inspiration. Finding out this about myself has been a great lesson, which is enabling me to create a life in respect of my needs.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you are coming to Mainz, I will be happy to offer you a place to stay whenever we have the capacity. In my flat, you are likely to meet not only me, but also my flatmates (old or new ones) and our friends who come by every now and then.

I love living an active, independent life, so past couchsurfing experience has shown that it's cool if each of us looks after themselves during the day. Evening is the time for me to calm down and relax, so we can cook something in the evening, share a drink and have long conversations about life :) If you like, we can also go to a nice restaurant or bar in Mainz. Also, I can give you advice for places to eat out, especially on places with vegan options

If I am coming to your place, I will be happy to adapt to your needs. This means that I will be very happy to be gently provided with a place to stay and will not expect anything beyond that from you. As I have alluded to above, I am a person who can easily entertain herself, so no worries that I will be bothering you and stay at your place all day. However, if you want to share something with me, I will be happy to join you
