ABOUT ME

I'm a rather calm, laid-back guy, I suppose. I do love sports though. Used to play football (soccer), when my knees still tolerated this. What I also enjoy, is a good conversation about any subject that is worth philosophizing about, but especially about art and literature. Friendship is an important thing to me and being honest and trustworthy to my friends and being generally honest, good-natured and reliable towards other people is something I try (I think successfully) to achieve. Well, maybe you find out more by yourself.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I never really used this account and just lately was getting active here again. Since I am absolutely new here, I can't say it in the present tense. But I would like, not just to use the hosting and travelling opportunities, but also the diverse group activities.

Going to exhibitions, to the theater, to all kind of cultural events as well as just socializing in bars or cafes I do likewise. But I spend a lot (probably more) time reading. In the summer I use the abundance of large parks that Berlin has to offer, to play football (soccer) or frisbee with my friends. Playing chess and drawing are hobbies of mine.

To many and to diverse as to be able to write them (books, movies, bands, composers, singers) down here, but in regard to books, I prefer classical literature from the 19th century, like Herman Melville or Leo Tolstoy, and I have always been a great Queen fan.

Well, they are not really amazing things that I do. I do some social work and am active in my neighborhood. I tutor schoolchildren as part of a program that is offered by public libraries and I am part of a neighborhood council that tries to improve the social cohesion in our community.

I am an uncomplicated guest and haven't much expectations. I'm not picky. I am happy to invite you to a dinner or prepare a meal or help you with some chores.
