ABOUT ME

I love travelling and lived as an expatriate for 9 years, in UK, Lesotho and Malaysia.
I am a landscape designer living in Auckland. I am very interested in visitng different landscapes around the world -both man made and natural.
I am an active member of Forest and Bird Society, New Zealand. (an active lobby group for the environment)

I really enjoy cycling and we usually holiday in a place which has a lot of biking trails.
I am also a very keen swimmer (member of Masters swimming club) and take part in organized ocean swims up to 4.5km.

I have 2 grown up children, belong to a tight knit family, have a lovely partner and great friends.
Auckland is a brillant city to live in because of all the outdoor activities.

PHILOSOPHY

I like to be honest and ethical in all my dealings -both personally and in business. That is an important part of my philosophy.
I like to take life as it comes -to concentrate on positives and not on negative stuff.
To travel around as much as I can -especially working on organic farms etc.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am very new to the Couch surfing community but would like to participate by sharing our lifestyle with guests and also to travel in a more 'real' way by meeting the locals and staying in their homes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been a couch surfer for a month and have hosted 3 people. They have all been great so a very positive experience all round.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scariest thing -Sitting in a house with my young kids while rival factions of the Lesotho army fired missles at each other over our house.
Travelling around Namibia -Etosha Game park and the sand dunes.-

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a good knowledge of gardening and plants -New Zealand biased.Would love to meet botanists, designers and gardeners from other countries.
Enjoy cooking but definately not a chef!
Love to swim and cycle. Can help with all that in Auckland but need to find out where to go in other places.
