About Me

🌍 About Me

Hey there! I’m Kasper, 36, based in The Hague (Den Haag). I’m a creative entrepreneur, photographer, and social legal worker — with a passion for meeting new people, exchanging stories, and discovering different ways of looking at the world.

I live in a cozy house close to the beach, with a sunny garden that’s perfect for a relaxing evening after a day out. My living room is spacious and ideal for 1 or 2 guests looking for a chilled and comfortable place to crash for a few nights. I also share my home with a very relaxed cat 🐾

🧭 Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I genuinely enjoy connecting with spontaneous, open-minded people — whether you’re an adventurous guy or a kind, laid-back girl with a story to share. Hosting gives me energy, and I love showing guests the hidden sides of The Hague through walking or photo tours.

📸 What I Do

Social & legal freelancer with a heart for justice and community
Soon to be electable as a city council member here in The Hague
I know the city inside out — feel free to ask anything!

🎒What to Expect

If you stay with me, you can expect good conversation, insider city tips, possible photo walks, and a calm place to wind down. I’m happy to give space or hang out, depending on the vibe. Respect, openness, and positive energy go a long way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because I genuinely love the spirit of travel — not just the places, but the people you meet along the way. Every guest brings a new story, a new perspective, and a chance to connect across cultures and experiences.

Hosting is my way of traveling without leaving home. I enjoy offering others a warm, welcoming space, and I’ve found that even the shortest stays can lead to meaningful conversations and unexpected friendships.

Couchsurfing, for me, is about openness, spontaneity, and the kind of human connection that no hotel or hostel can offer.

Interests

I’m someone who finds joy in both the simple and the profound. I love books — whether it’s literature, history, philosophy, or politics — and I’m always up for a deep conversation that explores new ideas or perspectives. I'm fascinated by stories in all forms, from ancient liturgy to modern documentaries.

Music plays a big part in my life. I enjoy classical music just as much as old-school rock & roll or whatever new sound catches my ear — it’s all about the feeling it brings. You might hear anything from Bach to Bowie at my place.

As a photographer, I have a creative heart and a fully equipped studio where I capture moments, moods, and people. I also enjoy organizing events or creating spaces where others can connect, share, and grow — that’s the community builder in me.

Good food and a well-poured drink? Always welcome. I like to enjoy life, preferably in good company and with some laughter involved.

Nature helps me slow down and reset, and I’m always grateful for a peaceful walk or a quiet moment outside.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
I’m always happy to share my knowledge of photography — whether it’s helping you take better pictures, showing you around my studio, or just going on a photo walk together. I also know a thing or two about Dutch politics, law, and the social systems here, so if you’re curious about how this country works, I’m happy to chat about that. And of course, I can give you a real local’s tour of The Hague — not just the tourist spots, but the hidden corners and stories behind them.

Learn:
I’m curious by nature, so I love learning about where people come from, what they believe in, and how they see the world. I’m always interested in discovering new books, music, recipes, or cultural traditions — anything that opens up a new perspective or idea.

Share:
I share my home, my time, and good energy. Whether it’s a meal, a drink in the garden, a thoughtful conversation, or a spontaneous adventure in the city — I enjoy creating moments that matter, and making people feel welcome and at ease.
