Hello friends !

My name is Kasia and I'm a young backpacker who loves meeting like-minded people :D

I was born in Poland but I left home at the age of 16 and went on an exchange to France. Being immersed into a different culture, meeting new people and learning a new language made me even more curious about the world around me, so after finishing high school I decided to go on a gap year. I backpacked through Europe and Australia, worked as an au pair in China and volunteered as an English teacher in Indonesia. After 11 months of traveling in Australia and Asia I came back to Europe and worked in France for 2 more years. Now I am working as a project coordinator in an NGO on a French Caribbean island, Martinique.

I could describe myself as a food lover (definitely a food lover), a cat lover and a nature lover. I also like reading, outdoor sports and, of course, traveling! I don't eat meat for environmental and ethical reasons. Human and animal rights are very important to me to me which is why I want to continue my studies in the field of international development. I always try to do something nice when I have the opportunity.

I believe that the best way to experience a country is by being with locals and that's why, along with CS, I also use WorkAway and sometimes I work as an au pair to experience the everyday life in a country I'm visiting.
And hey, CS is also the best way to make friends, isn't it? :)

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

- Got lost in the forest at the age of 12 but didn't want to admit it so just kept going further. I was so deep into the woods that people looking for me got lost too.

- Went on a gap year with (almost) no money and no plans.

- Completely shaved my head after 2 weeks in Australia (and then did it again a month later)

- and probably much more but let's talk about it when we meet :D

I can share with you my travel experience and some budget travel tips. I would be more than happy to help you with language practice too - French, Polish or English. And (I don't think there's a lot of people who need it, but..) I'm pretty good when it comes to French braids so I can teach how to make them!

I also want to learn more about the sustainable lifestye and I've been trying to learn how to cook for a while now (many believe I'm a hopeless case though..), so it would be amazing if you could teach me to prepare your favourite dish or show me how to be more eco-friendly :)

I would be more than happy to share my langauge skills with you and to help you practicing french, polish or english. I can also help with animals or some cleaning, or simply tell you stories about my travels or about the history of my country. I can try to cook a vegan meal, but I'm still far away from being anything like a good cook (you have been warned). HOWEVER I know how to make a vegan ice cream and would be delighted to make one for you!

And of course, I will help you with anything you need :)
