About Me
Hey there! I’m Kashvi, a law student from India with a serious passion for food, travel, and a dash of adventure (but mostly the kind that comes on a plate!). I’m on a mission to explore the world, one delicious meal at a time. 🍜
I am very serious and passionate about my academics and on a journey to becoming a lawyer to help people and make a difference. I truly believe we’re all here for a purpose – to grow into the best versions of ourselves and leave the world a little better than we found it. What better way to do that than by connecting with amazing people? While I’m more into trying new cuisines than jumping off cliffs (for now!), I’m always up for exploring new experiences – even the adventurous kind.
Can’t wait to meet fellow travelers and share stories over good food!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because, to me, travel isn’t just about crossing destinations off a list – it’s about immersing myself in the lives, cultures, and stories of the people who shape those places. I believe that every person we meet has the power to teach us something new, helping us grow in ways we didn’t expect. Through Couchsurfing, I want to go beyond being a visitor; I want to share in authentic experiences and create connections that make travel meaningful.
Growing up in Kashmir, I’ve seen how culture, history, and community shape our experiences, and it’s made me realize that the more you understand people, the better you become as a person. That’s what I want from my travels: to grow through human connection.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
I’m not really a huge music person, so you won’t find me with headphones on much.
Movies:
I love horror movies – the scarier, the better! Some of my favorites are Sinister and The Conjuring. I’m also a big fan of Bong Joon-ho. His quote, “Once you overcome the one-inch-tall barrier of subtitles, you will be introduced to so many more amazing films,” resonates with me. I used to watch tons of movies, but with uni keeping me busy, I don’t have as much time now.
Books:
My all-time favorite book is A Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes. It’s a beautifully written story about memory and an unreliable narrator, which makes you rethink everything by the end. I also really like Atomic Habits by James Clear – it’s all about self-improvement and making small changes that have a big impact.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing (and slightly wild) thing I’ve done? Well, when I was 8, I decided it would be a great idea to run away from my parents on a super steep, rain-soaked mountain and start climbing it! I managed to get a little way up before reality (and my parents’ scolding) caught up with me. Let’s just say it wasn’t my best decision, but it definitely makes for a good story!
On a more serious note, I’ve had the privilege of working with NGOs on causes like internet freedom and women’s rights. Both experiences have been incredibly rewarding and remind me why I’m so passionate about making a difference!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’d love to share a bit of India with you through snacks I bring along! I also love to cook, so I’d be more than happy to whip up a meal and introduce you to some of my favorite dishes.
Beyond food, I have a knack for stories – whether it’s sharing my own experiences or hearing yours, I believe great conversations are the best part of meeting new people.
