About Me
Hi there! 👋
I'm Kashyap, living in Mumbai, India, and working in the world of finance by profession.
Outside of work, I’m a nature enthusiast, give me mountains, hikes, sunsets, or a quiet beach and I’m at peace. Photography is my way of freezing those little moments, and I often find myself chasing views that make me pause and reflect. 🌄🌊
I'm a big fan of traveling, especially for the people and stories. While my adventures have mostly been within India so far, I’m excited to broaden my horizons and connect with people from around the world. Couchsurfing feels like the perfect way to do that!
I believe some of life’s best conversations happen over good food, long drives, or just while watching a movie. I enjoy thoughtful discussions ranging from philosophy to pop culture, from books to badminton, or even just debating whether pineapple belongs on pizza. 🍕
"What if life is just a dream, and when we die, we wake up?"
– one of many questions I like to ponder.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The most beautiful part of Couchsurfing, for me, is the chance to connect with locals to truly experience a place through the lives of the people who call it home.
Living with someone who comes from a completely different background challenges me to reflect on my own lifestyle and beliefs. It gently reminds me that most things in life aren’t strictly right or wrong they're just different perspectives shaped by culture, experience, and context.
Every home I stay in, every tradition I witness, and every conversation I share helps me grow into a more adaptable, open-minded, and curious traveler. These experiences not only make my journey more enriching, but also change the way I see the world—country by country, person by person.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While traveling in Norway, I discovered a hidden gem through Couchsurfing a World War II bunker perched on a hilltop overlooking the ocean, repurposed into an underground art project.
To get there, I hiked about 30 minutes uphill, rewarded at the top with 270-degree views of the ocean breathtaking, wild, and completely isolated. The bunker had no electricity, no modern comforts. I had to gather firewood for warmth, carry my own food, and rely on candlelight once the sun went down.
Inside, the space was transformed by art, handwritten testimonials from travelers all over the world, and scattered relics from the war era. It was both eerie and awe-inspiring, a space suspended in time yet pulsing with life through creativity and stories left behind.
That night was a blend of solitude, survival, and reflection. It made me appreciate how deeply travel can connect us not just to places, but to history, strangers, and ourselves.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I believe Couchsurfing is more than just sharing a space it’s about sharing stories, perspectives, and a bit of who we are. As a guest, I bring with me a sense of curiosity, gratitude, and easygoing energy.
Here’s what I can offer:
Good conversations: From philosophy to food, cultures to quirky “shower thoughts,” I enjoy meaningful discussions and love listening to stories from around the world.
A helping hand: Happy to assist with cooking, cleaning, or even doing a grocery run. I treat every place I stay as I would my own home.
Cultural exchange: I’d love to share stories from India, introduce you to some unique snacks or chai-making rituals (if I can get my hands on the ingredients!), or teach you a bit of Hindi if you're curious.
Respect for space and boundaries: Whether you're up for chats or prefer quiet company, I adapt easily and always appreciate the generosity of being hosted.
If nothing else, I promise to leave behind good energy and (hopefully) a new friend somewhere in the world. :)
