ABOUT ME
What can I say? My name is Kat or Kate depending on who you ask - I answer to both :)
I love to try out new things and meet new people, and I like to think I can get on with anybody. I'm always up for an adventure, but I like to have quiet moments as well. People tend to describe me as 'easy going', 'tolerant' and 'good at keeping her head in a crisis'. That last one might just be because I get into more crises than most people, it's hard to tell. I'm quite blunt and sarcastic, but I'm trying to keep this in check as I don't want to accidentally offend anyone...
I'm currently taking a 'year out' in Germany (and having a fab time) before I get all serious with the studying thing (and hopefully continue having a fab time...)
PHILOSOPHY
Grab any and every opportunity and try to stuff as much into your life as possible
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I still feel quite new, but I've started going to a couple of CS meetings and meeting people. I can't offer a couch at the moment, but I'd love to get involved in the CS community in and around Duesseldorf/Remscheid/Wuppertal/Solingen/anywhere else nearby :)
I'm working as an Au-pair for eleven months (living with my employers, which is why I can't offer a couch) and then hope to travel a bit (and utilise CS) before I head back to England for uni and to begin some hosting - I can't wait! :D

Music, Movies, and Books
Anything and everything :D I've just started to try to read books in German, so I've gone from managing a whole book in a couple of hours to just a couple of pages, but I'm hoping it'll get better... Update: I've actually managed to read a couple of novels, which makes me very happy, even if they weren't the most difficult of books in the world :) I have a penchant for 'trashy' novels and films, but I enjoy 'proper' books and films too, once I begin them. One of my favourite places is the library - I AM that much of a geek ;) - but I recently got a Kindle given to me so that might revolutionise my reading, especially when travelling
Teach, Learn, Share
um... this is the bit where I start to feel useless ;)
I can obviously speak English, seeing as I grew up in England, and I'd be happy to teach that. I'm trying to learn German especially, but I'd love to do language exchanges generally, and recipe swaps appeal to me aswell. I like to try everything, and learn whatever I can!
