ABOUT ME

My friends say I am an "otter" meaning playful.At work on Mondays, people are always curious about how I spent my weekend, which could range from an adventure race to hosting a traveling band at my home or hiking a local, but relatively unknown trail in the area.

Interests

I like to be physically active, I usually work a bike ride, a hike or some other activity into my free time. I also like to be challenged intellectually and do this by volunteering for various organizations, I am currently dedicating a fair amount of time to volunteering for a local community radio station, which has taught me a lot about a lot of things, including the difference between public and community radio and how to do bookkeeping/accounting which is a far cry from my day job as a juvenile probation counselor, which I also find very rewarding and challenging. I also belong to a film club and we tend to check out foreign and independent films and have interesting discussions about them as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Aside from running four marathons, doing a seven day bike trip in Canada, various adventure races, triathalons, living in Sweden and Iran,and, numerous other athletic events, I have also seen the statue of David (which ranks among the most beautiful works of art I have ever seen). These are small in comparison to the amazing acts of courage and resiliency I see on a daily basis in my community and work. I hope I never fail to see the amazing things in people and life going on all around me every day!
