About Me

CURRENT MISSION

finish my studies. get a job. save the world. stay happy.

ABOUT ME

A girl that cannot stay still for more than a few minutes, but is at the same time able to spend an entire day thinking and contemplating.

A perfectionist and an eternal optimist (or is it idealist?) that above all values freedom, and is therefore sometimes hit hard with reality.

A girl that is impressed by every single aspect of life, and is for this reason exceedingly enthusiastic about discovering new places, meeting new people and getting to know new cultures and traditions.

A person that at times tends to take life a liiiitle bit too seriously, but nonetheless loves to laugh and knows how and when to take it easy :)

And simply a girl that loves challenges, because they lift her spirits and light up her life!

PHILOSOPHY

The world we live in is far too big and there are far too many things to see to live in one place forever. A part of this was much more beaufitully put in words by William Blake in Auguries of Innocence:

To see a world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music is one of essential parts of my life. Almost anything goes; from Damien Rice and Sufjan Stevens to Arcade Fire, the xx, Foo Fighters, and Massive Attack or Faithless with some world music (e.g. African, such as Habib Koité).

Life without books is also unimaginable. Recently I finished reading The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini - highly recommended! Apart from it, my top list: Kerouac's On the Road, because it made me want to travel. Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment even though I had to read it for school. And the works of J. D. Salinger, Oscar Wilde and Ernest Hemingway, because they help me drift away to some other place.

Into the Wild, Amélie, the Motorcycle Diaries, the Shawshank Redemption, La vita e Bella, Trainspotting, The Power of One, and films by Pedro Almodóvar win the fave movies category.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, life in itself is quite amazing, having fun living it is even more so. In this regard, I think I've been doing a rather amazing job so far :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Teaching and learning languages! Slovenian is normally considered an exotic language, so it's always an asset knowing at least a bit of it (even if it is just a couple of swear words...).

I also know Slovenian mountains quite well, and am willing to take you for a hike anytime - if you're keen on hiking.

Countries I’ve Visited

Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Kenya, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Rwanda, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Syrian Arab Republic, Tanzania, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, United Kingdom
