Im not zero waste nor Vegan, not a pacifist or anarchist, but i do belive this (and all other) many ways could help us to consider life as something bigger than our goals and views in very demanding reality, that pushes us to care only for short sighted resolutions or defending rights that could be reduced to basic self centredness.
I symphatize with zen. Dont get me wrong, it could be a harsh love, but as long as you dont mind, Christ and all other great guys and girls are not far away.
