About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To experience all the culture and beauty that Europe has to offer while we are still young and "free!"

ABOUT ME

I am currently a personal trainer with a background in Engineering and Geology. TR was a St. Louis City Police Officer for over 8 years, ending as a Detective before choosing to return to school to become a lawyer. TR and I are active, well-educated people who enjoy spending time both in and out of doors. We are both very fit and exercise regularly, and we live a great neighborhood for long walks.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We used Couchsurfing to get all over the UK for 2 weeks, and it worked pretty well! We swore when we got back to the States that we would become hosts, and we truly enjoy it. As long as we have the time and space, we will try to accommodate surfers.

Interests

Not only do we love to visit museums and other centers of culture, we also spend as much time as we can camping, hiking, canoeing, and fishing. TR would gladly spend whole days in old churches and libraries, while I adore wandering down the streets and studying the architecture and finding unique shops and cafes off the beaten path. We both enjoy food and drink (I love to cook), and we hope to discover great local dishes and of course the local wines and beers. We both enjoy art, history, religion, food and spirits, local geography and geology, and seeing the beauty both the cities and countryside have to offer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

We have to say 2, really. We took a 2-week road trip in the spring of 2007 around the United States, spending my 30th birthday in Glacier National Park. Our 12-mile hike to see our first glacier ever was humbling, nearly a religious experience.
During our time in Europe in the spring of 2008, we took a 3-week whirlwind train tour of Germany, Austria, Italy, and France. Beautiful. Bavaria and Austria are fairy-tale like in their beauty, and French food is delicious!

Teach, Learn, Share

TR has skills in self defense (law enforcement) and a great knowledge of literature, politics, and history. I have a strong science background in many disciplines, and I teach people how to exercise for a living. I am a pretty proficient self-taught cook as well. We are both quite skilled at outdoor activities, such as fishing, camping, and boating.
