About Me

hello there, my name is kate ~

I’m from a small island off the coast of new zealand, i’ve spent the past year travelling across japan and now I want to follow one of the trails of my favourite writers across turkey down to Iran.

i used to work in this half falling down secondhand bookstore in new zealand and i stopped and instead i wanted to live past the adventures i was reading.

i love to spend time in a single place and really be there, not as a tourist but to see things a bit more.

Somewhere on my adventures i picked up an old film camera from a junk shop. i started experimenting with it, creating small projects along the way - building stories around my own insights and discoveries...

Music, Movies, and Books

favourites are so difficult.

The last film I watched was called the tin drum about a boy who just decides one day to stop growing and stay in a child's body.

books are my love, i never travel without one. when i was a teenager i found two books on my mother’s bookshelf that just changed the way i looked at things - one was Momo by michael ende and the other Sidhartha by herman hesse.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I travelled to these monasteries that seem to grow out of the himalayas, on a 2 week ride on the back of a motorbike all spontaneously planned in under an hour.
